Wow! I can’t believe it’s already September. We are off to a great start in Kindergarten. The kids have been working so hard to learn and follow the rules. We have had fun with the Gingerbread Man and Pete the Cat. Last week we started learning our sight words, can & I. Our words we are focusing on this week are like & am. We will introduce new sight words each week. Your child will have a baggie tomorrow with their sight words and also a note inside that will help explain how you can help your child at home. Your chid will be responsible for reading and writing all of their sight words. This will help them to be more successful in Reading and Writing. Thanks for all your help at home!
I hope everyone had a great summer. I am going to miss my students from last year, but I am very excited to start a new year and meet my new ones. I hope to see each of you at “Meet the Teacher” on Tuesday from 4:00-5:00. Please come even if you do not have school supplies yet, I will have important paperwork for the parents to complete. First day of school is Thursday, August 16. I am looking forward to an awesome year!
On April 10 & 11 the Intermediate students will be testing. No visitors are allowed in the building and no outside lunches will be accepted on these days.
On April 10 is the Kindergarten Zoo Trip. Don’t forget to bring your lunch and wear comfortable shoes.
December 19th is Pajama Day and it is also Early Release at 11:45. Please do not plan on eating lunch with your child on this day, because our lunch times will be different than usual.
December 20th is our Christmas Party from 9:00-10:00. If you are coming to help set up for the party, please try to be here at 8:30. If you are sending Penny Gifts, please try to have them here tomorrow so that the kids can place them in our Christmas bags. You are welcome to take your child home with you after the party. There will be a sign out sheet in my classroom.
CHRISTMAS BREAK IS DECEMBER 21-JANUARY 3. We will return to school on Thursday, January 4.
I hope you all enjoy your time with your precious babies and have a Very Merry Christmas!
Don’t forget today is Early Release! We will get out at 11:30.
I just wanted to thank everyone for donating school supplies to the Beaumont School. The “Fill the Truck” was a big success at the football game. Our kids were so happy and excited to share their things with other kids in need. It was an awesome learning experience for them! It was very heartwarming to see how thoughtful and giving our kids are. The Beaumont School and their students were very excited and appreciative for everything they received!!! Thanks again!
For the next couple of weeks we will be focusing on color words. We will continue to review the sight words we have learned so far. I, am, at, go, on, we, the, like, can, me, and see. Thanks for all your work at home,it helps them so much!
School pictures will be tomorrow. Your child will have a picture packet in their folder tonight.
Our sight words for this week are see and me. Next week we will add the words go, we, and at. Please continue to read and write their sight words at home.
WOISD is donating school supplies to a Beaumont School that was terribly affected by Hurricane Harvey. These kids need everything! If you are able to donate, please send anything you have. They need pencils, paper, glue, scissors, markers, crayons, folders, new or used library books, lunch kits, backpacks, or anything else you may have. We are collecting at the school and will also have a truck at the WO vs. Spring Hill football game this Friday night. We are trying to Fill the Truck!!! So if you are unable to send supplies with your child to school, please take them to the football game and help “Fill the Truck.” This is a great way to help teach our children that they can make a difference and help others. Please pass the word to any family members, friends, or business owners. Thanks for all of your help! Go Roughnecks!!!!
