I just wanted to thank everyone for donating school supplies to the Beaumont School. The “Fill the Truck” was a big success at the football game. Our kids were so happy and excited to share their things with other kids in need. It was an awesome learning experience for them! It was very heartwarming to see how thoughtful and giving our kids are. The Beaumont School and their students were very excited and appreciative for everything they received!!! Thanks again!
For the next couple of weeks we will be focusing on color words. We will continue to review the sight words we have learned so far. I, am, at, go, on, we, the, like, can, me, and see. Thanks for all your work at home,it helps them so much!
School pictures will be tomorrow. Your child will have a picture packet in their folder tonight.
Our sight words for this week are see and me. Next week we will add the words go, we, and at. Please continue to read and write their sight words at home.
WOISD is donating school supplies to a Beaumont School that was terribly affected by Hurricane Harvey. These kids need everything! If you are able to donate, please send anything you have. They need pencils, paper, glue, scissors, markers, crayons, folders, new or used library books, lunch kits, backpacks, or anything else you may have. We are collecting at the school and will also have a truck at the WO vs. Spring Hill football game this Friday night. We are trying to Fill the Truck!!! So if you are unable to send supplies with your child to school, please take them to the football game and help “Fill the Truck.” This is a great way to help teach our children that they can make a difference and help others. Please pass the word to any family members, friends, or business owners. Thanks for all of your help! Go Roughnecks!!!!
This week’s sight words are on and the. So far we have learned I, can, like, and am. Next week we will practice the words see and me. Please continue to review these words with your child at home. Thank you!
Parent Orientation will be next Tuesday, September 19 at 5:30. It should last about an hour. The Kindergarten teachers will be going over student academic and behavioral expectations in the classroom. Please try to come if possible. This is not a parent-teacher conference, those will be scheduled later.
We are off to a Great Start in Kindergarten! The first couple of weeks have been spent learning the school rules. We will continue to review our rules daily. Please help remind them of school rules at home also. Behavior is a huge part of our learning environment.
We have started learning sight words already! These words are seen in their reading books and daily work. Last week was “can” and “I.” This week we will focus on “like” and “am.” I am sending a ziplock bag with this year’s sight words. You may cut them out and make flashcards for your child. These words are very important. By the end of the year your child will be expected to read and write them independently.
Thanks for all your help at home!
